FAQS
Are sessions virtual or in person?
All sessions are held virtually on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, so you can meet from home, the office, or wherever you feel most comfortable. Research shows virtual therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions, with more flexibility for your schedule.
How long is each session, and how often do we meet?
Individual sessions are 45 minutes. We recommend starting with weekly sessions, since consistency early on tends to lead to the strongest results. As you progress, we may adjust the frequency together based on your needs. If you’re interested in longer sessions or meeting twice a week, please reach out and we can discuss what works best for you.
How many sessions will I need?
For some people, regular sessions become a valuable routine; for others, they offer support through specific challenges or life events. Our goal is to support you for as long as you need, and you may find value in a longer-term relationship.
Do you work with children and teens?
We work with adolescents, teens, and adults. We do not currently work with children.
What’s the difference between therapy and coaching?
Therapy focuses on your mental health and emotional well-being, helping you understand and work through the root of challenges like anxiety, burnout, or life transitions. Coaching is forward-focused, built around your goals, your performance, and accountability. Both are grounded in our clinical expertise.
Not sure which is right for you? Book a free consult call, and we’ll figure it out together.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payment by credit card, cash, check, Zelle, Venmo, or HSA/FSA card.
Do you offer any payment plans or discounts?
We offer a limited number of sliding scale spots to make therapy more accessible. The sliding scale applies to therapy only, not coaching. If you think you may be eligible, please schedule a free 10-minute consultation call so we can learn more about your situation.
Do you take insurance?
We are an out-of-network provider. Depending on your plan, you may be able to use your out-of-network benefits for therapy sessions. Payment is due in full at the time of each session, and we can provide a superbill, a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend contacting your insurance provider before your first session to confirm your out-of-network benefits. Submitting the superbill and following up on reimbursement is the client’s responsibility. Please note that superbills are available for therapy only, as coaching is not billable to insurance.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. For Monday sessions, please cancel by Friday. Late cancellations and missed sessions are charged the full session fee, and if we’re able to reschedule within the same week, the fee will be waived.
This policy helps us maintain consistency and respect each other’s time. We understand that emergencies and serious medical situations happen, and these will always be taken into consideration.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes. Everything you share in session is kept confidential. There are a few exceptions required by law, such as a risk of serious harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, or a court order. We will review these with you before your first session.
